Description
This is how long to boil carrots, how to season them, how to store them. Try this recipe of a quinoa salad with boiled carrots.
Ingredients
- 5 carrots
- salt
- hot water
Instructions
- Fill the pan with water and a little salt, and bring to a boil.
- Put the steamer basket on it.
- Wash carrots and cut them evenly.
- Once water comes to a boil, add the chopped carrots on the basket steamer and cover the pan with a glass lid.
- Check with a fork. Turn off the heat when carrots are al dente.
- Pull the steamer basket off the pan and run the carrots under cold water.
- Once carrots are cold, bring the steamer basket on the steaming pan again and cover with a lid. DO NOT TURN ON THE HEAT!
- Leave the carrots 3-4 minutes until they are soft and warm again.
- Bring them to a glass jar and start composing your favorite salad.
Notes
BONUS BOILED CARROTS RECIPE:
1- Cut feta cheese into bite chunks and season with 1tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tbsp lemon juice, and dried oregano.
2- Add carrots, 1 cup of cooked quinoa. Mix gently with your hands.
3- Add the dressing: 2tbsp yogurt, 2tbsp olive oil, 1tbsp white wine vinegar, one anchovy, caperi, 1/2tbsp walnut pesto. Blend until you have a creamy consistency.
4- Decorate with your favorite herbs.
Enjoy for dinner or as a takeaway lunch.
