Caramelized Sourdough French Toast

Description

Caramelized sourdough french toast packed with seasonal ingredients, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 egg (whole range egg)
  • 1 banana
  • 1/3 cup chocolate (powdered)
  • hazelnuts (a handful )
  • 1/2 tbsp powder sugar
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tbsp yoghurt
  • 1/2 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • cinnamon (a pinch)
  • 1/2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Soak each slices of bread in beaten egg
  2. Add the chopped chocolate in one of the slices
  3. Put the other slice of bread on the other one and toast
  4. In two minutes, add powder sugar on one side and toast it again until dark brown
    caramelized sourdough french toast
  5. Set the toast aside and add a little butter and cinnamon on the pan. Fry the halves of the banana and toast the hazelnuts at the same time.
  6. Decorate the plate with pomegranate seeds, yoghurt and basil.

Notes

  • Always prepare the ingredients before start cooking. That means, chop the chocolate and hazelnuts too (if you want them chopped).
  • Instead of basil you can use mint or whatever herb you like.
