Description
This salad is refreshing, vibrant, full of flavors.
Ingredients
- 6 stalks celery
- 1 large pear
- 1/3 cup gorgonzola cheese (equals 80 grams)
- 1 tbsp almonds (toasted)
- 2 strawberries (for decoration)
Cream Cheese Dressing
- 4 tbsp cream cheese
- 2 tbsp milk
- a pinch of salt and pepper
Tahini Dressing
- 1 big tbsp tahini (equals 15ml)
- 1/4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small tbsp lime juice (or orange juice)
- ⅐ tbsp ground mustard (totally optional)
- 1/4 tbsp greek yoghurt
- salt + pepper
Instructions
- Put the celery and pear into irregular bite-size chunks.
- Toss them into a bowl with a little olive oil.
- Transfer them into a flat plate or a bowl, and then crumble cheese on them along with the toasted almonds.
- Add the dressing as desired, on the bottom of the plate or on the top of the salad.
- Decorate with strawberry on top or raspberry.
Notes
*At first, it is crucial to toss celery and pear with a bit of olive oil because they enhance their favor, and it becomes easier for them to absorb the dressing.
*This could be a vegan salad if adapted with the proper dressing. Choose tahini dressing and avoid adding yogurt to make it vegan-friendly.
*Stick to the classic dressing with olive oil+lemon juice+salt+pepper if you do not want to play around a lot with something new on the table. Instead of lemon juice, you can try orange juice, and it works just as perfectly.
* For each plate presented in the photographs, 3 stacks of celery and half a pear are used. In all, only 1 large pear is needed and 6 stalks of celery.
